Jim Paxton
Biography
In 1997, Jim Paxton was the editor and publisher of The Paducah Sun. He and the editorial staff at the Sun oversaw the paper’s coverage of the Heath High School shooting, subsequent criminal and civil proceedings, as well as memorial efforts over the years. Paxton was still editor and publisher in early 2018 when the shooting at Marshall County High School again rocked western Kentucky. He has written numerous editorials regarding the effects of both shootings on the community. On the date of this recording, June 21, 2018, he had just announced his retirement.
